VALLEY MARINE MALIBU BOATS HYPERLITE WAKEBOARDS

WakeboardNebraska.com MOBILE slider/kicker...
WHOOPS!!!

After learning alot of stuff the hard way... I thought I'd share some insight with you on how to build your own mobile slider. The nice thing about this slider is that it's just sitting on top of a deck. So, when we get sick of this one... it'll be easy to switch out to a different type.

Engineers involved and responsible for our mobile slider:
Todd Feltman, Tyson Chamberlain, Chris Keller, & Ronnie Romero.

"How to"...

Here's how she started out- 15' Caravelle circa 1979

Rippin' er down to nothin'... we just want the boat!

Now that we've got everything out... we've got something to work with!

We all broke out our sticker stashes!

It all starts with what's inside, so we built the interior framework SOLID.

This slider should be sponsored by PL400!

After the framework was completed it's time to add the 3/4" pressure treated plywood to the top. This will soon be the deck that the kicker sits on.

Kicker's transition... build 'er just like you would a skateboard wedge ramp. Draw and cutout your tranny then attach the two triangles with 2X4's.

Set the transition on top of the deck.

Fasten the transition onto the deck and the framework below with large bolts and washers. Also, use angle irons on the out side of the tranny to keep 'er stable.

Sliderus Skeletonus. This is how to attach the sides to the slider. This will save many people who decide to take an early exit off the edge.

Attach 1/4" plywood to the sides.

Paint the sides with Kilz exterior paint... you don't want any splinters. Also, a great place for sponsors to put their logos (hint hint)

Ready for PVC!!!

Tie the four 4" PVC pieces together with plywood (the length of the slider) Screw and bolt this like crazy. Make sure to use at least 200 PSI PVC. Don't skimp and get the flimsy cheap stuff.

Set the PVC you just tied together on top of the transition. PL and bolt/screw from the inside of the slider.

TA-DA !!! Sit back and have a cold one.. but not too many. You still gotta drive it to the lake!

Hook your new mobile slider up to your truck and head out.

Oh yea.. and pray she doesn't tip on the way down to the lake!

Anchor your slider into the ground using large (3') trailer tie-downs. Screw em all the way into the ground. You should be putting this in 3-4' of water to make it alot easier on yourself.

If you know of any person(s) or business that may be interested in sponsoring this slider, please email Ronnie for details. And believe me... it gets the looks when it's on the water.
