ATTENTION BOAT OWNERS:Tired of everyone dinging up the back of your boat when they are putting on their board? You know... when they are slamming their feet down to get into the bindings or cinching their laceups and the board slams into the back of your boat causing dings and sticker scratches. Well the boys at No Flex came up with another sweet innovation. This is one that after you buy it and are ready to install it you say to yourself "Damn, I coulda thought of this one!". Well you didn't. But the concept is simple and very helpful. I think ALL inboard boat owners will appreciate this product. It gives riders a place to slide their board under and gives 'em something to leverage off of as they put their boards on. The Transom Guard is made of a non-marking material, which has outstanding UV properties and exceptional durability. Installation is a breeze. Screw straight into your platform and in about 5 minutes you're ready to hit the water. This is a must have! Check out NoFlexInc.com for more info on their Transom Guard. No Flex has also announced a price drop on the Lokz binding bolts reviewed below ($49.95)

available in a bunch of cool colors

I'm sure you've heard of the newest binding lock system from No Flex Inc. called Lokz. If you're like me you are probably wondering- are they worth $70? The answer is simple. Ever been out on a glassy morning, pumped to ride, only to find that your binding hardware is loose? Oops, you forgot your hex tool at home. Instead of headin' out on the water, you are headin' out to find a boat on the lake that has a tool so you can tighten your bindings. There are no tools necessary to tighten Lokz binding bolts. They adjust just like the cheap throw away thumb screws that came with your bindings, but (used in conjunction with their No Flex Barz stiffening bars) give you the support of bones and hex bolts. Because they are so easy to adjust, you can now easily switch out different bindings on the same board for different riders in no time. The main thing you want to keep in mind is do not tighten these Lokz too much. Thumb screws allow for too much binding flex, bones and hex bolts require a tool and retightening after a hard run. My experience with hex bolts and bones is that the bolts end up digging into the stiffener plates after repeated tightening. This causes the bolts to slip within the plate. You'll then need to readjust the plate to an area that is not indented. Personally, I've gone through two sets of Rainbow Bones in the last year and a half because of this. Lokz WILL BE the last pair of binding fasteners you will buy. I especially would recommend Lokz to any intermediate to advanced rider who likes to cut really hard or to any rider over 185 lbs. The bigger guys and harder cutters tend to put alot more stress on there bindings causing tons of flex. So, to answer the question... yes, $70 is well worth the fact that you'll probably never buy another set of fasteners again or worry about finding a tool on the boat again. Not to mention, they look really cool on your board :) Be the first on your lake with Lokz and see the difference for yourself. Ride The Spot Wakeboard Camp w/ Travis Moye & Darin Shapiro
8 open blisters and a very sore body later... I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to spend 3 days in the heartland of wakeboarding- Orlando, FL at "The Spot" located on Lake Mary Jane. This was an experience that I would strongly recommend to ANYONE looking to further their wakeboard skills, ride some killer water, and meet and spend some time hanging with people that share your same love for the sport. It gave me the opportunity to do some things on a wakeboard that I had never had the chance to do before such as hitting sliders and kickers, ride behind different wakeboard boats (Toyota and the X-Star that is pulling the pro tour this year) and ride the cable park at OWC. The routine at "The Spot" is up to you. If you wanna ride 6 sets a day you can. If you wanna ride for 45 mins.sets... you can. If you wanna chill and sleep in... you can. You set your own day's agenda. Travis is always willing to head out in the boat with ya'.

Stance Life Jacket
I rode last year's model with the dual straps and it was a GREAT jacket. Thin, so I could move around comfortably, yet it was a very buoyant jacket. So, I decided to upgrade this year to the new model. The new model is essentially the same as last year's except they went to a single strap design. This, I believe was an error. This jacket blew open on me at least 3 or 4 times in one ride. The foam all pushed into the shoulders and I felt like a real tool. Now, let's face it... I'm not the skinniest of riders, but still the jacket should at least remain a jacket. When I was done with one ride it looked like some sort of orgami disaster. In my opinion the 2001 Stance jacket gets an A+ in appearance and flotation but an F in usability.

It's in the boat!!! Thanks to Bahnsen's Ski and Sport- Omaha, we will be enjoying great consistent pulls all year long. I had the Wakeboard Pro installed (shown above). It almost made driving the boat boring... that's how easy it is to drive. Now ANYONE can pull you. Basically all you do to engage Perfect Pass is set the desired speed before you start. Then start your pull like normal. Say you set it for 23 mph... at about 19-20 mph you'll here a beep. Let go of the throttle and Perfect Pass takes over- it's that easy. And believe me, the ride behind the boat was awesome. Especially the double ups... it keeps the speed PERFECT- hence the name. With the Wakeboard Pro you can choose either RPM based (heavier loads) or Speed based (lighter loads). Also gives you water temp, RPM's, voltage, and other info. Run to Bahnsen's to get this installed in your boat NOW.
BursTrick Wakeboarding- Playstation

I had to try this one... I mean how can you pass up ANY Playstation game for $10, let alone one that is based on our favorite sport. Let me start off by saying that there is a reason that this game is 10 bucks... there just isn't that much to it. After sitting down for 1/2 hour at lunch I had already completed the whole game. I am not telling you not to buy this one... in fact, I'm saying buy it. It is worth the $10. The tricks are sick and they are even pretty realistic. The game really reminds me of the early Coolboarders games. If you are looking for where to buy this game... get it from Amazon.com here. How could they make it better? Burstrick definitely needs a better soundtrack, give us pro rider selection, real boards to choose from, and maybe let you tour to certain hotspots like Shasta, Canyon Lake, Lake Powell, & OWC. I'm hoping for a few of these options from Shaun Murray's ActiVision game due out this summer. Oh yeah...could you tell that the rider on the cover is aVR version of Gregg Necrasson ridin' his Trip? Man, I'm a geek... I need to get on the lake!

Rope Reviews

Accurate  Yellow Jacket Fusion

The Yellow Jacket from Accurate is becoming very popular with most of the pros today. This is a great rope for riders who want a thin tangle free line that is also well constructed. The Yellow Jacket has a neoprene core to help with flotation and is wrapped with a 100% Spectra Fiber for minimal stretch.

Proline  65' Cable line Mainline

One thing is for sure, with this rope there will be no stretch!! With a breaking strength of over 3000+ pounds, it will take a lot to break this thing. This rope has an overall length of 65 feet and is divided into four labeled take off sections. The Proline Mainline is blended with Dyneema rope imported from the Netherlands, and is available in several colors such as: silver, orange, blue & yellow.

This is the latest creation from Straight Line. The Blue Blazer is the top of the line in their series of wakeboarding ropes. This rope has a braided Spectra core to give you a rock solid no stretch feel.  The outside jacket is made out of a multi-filament poly to give it a long life and to keep it a float.

Binding Lubricants- Battle of the Sloosh

Moose Juice- Do NOT waste your money on this goo. The pump applicator gets clogged after a couple uses. You resort to taking the lid off and dumping the remains of the poor Moose's juice in your bindings- not too efficient.

Newt Juice- Works well... If your gonna buy an over the counter binding lubricant this is the one to do. I suggest buying the bottle with the flip top as opposed to the spray top. You should be able to find the 16 oz. bottle for $6 or so. Actually, to get the best deal on this stuff, spring for the gallon and it should last you all season. I think it's like $39 with sprayer.

Dawn Dish Soap- Ghetto. I've seen a lot of riders doing this one... DON'T. Sure it's the cheapest when you rob it from Mom's cupboard, but you are A) lessening the life of your bindings B) making a cool oil slick in the lake & C) gonna pop out of your bindings alot easier because the soap doesn't "go away" as quickly as the others. This will definitely get you in your bindings, but you wanna stay in 'em don't ya'?

Duck Butter- Works pretty decent, as well... however you need a second job to pay for the stuff. $10 for 16 ounces? C'mon... Guess you're paying to see that jacked up lookin', muscle duck on the bottle. Cool name though.

Barbasol- My personal favorite. The Beard Buster! Cheap. Great scent. Doesn't harm your bindings. You can find 3 packs for $2. The drawback to this is as soon as you've introduced the can to water it is no longer that poofy foamy substance you once knew as shaving cream. It transforms itself into more of a liquid. Solution: Keep it out of the water. Oh yea.. don't buy the gel. Original, Menthol, Lemon/Lime, Skin Conditioner, Sensitive Skin, Aloe, and Extra Crispy, I mean Protection :)
